Editor: I am really looking forward to the trial of the woonerf on Bear Street. Woonerf is a Dutch term for ‘No Parking Available.’
Seriously, this is a step in the right direction. Getting rid of traffic in town will be good for business. The Town needs to consider intercept parking on its lands at the compound and/or negotiate with other lease holders.
The gondola concept may have merit, but it obviously also requires intercept parking. Visitors driving around endlessly don’t spend money in town.
