Thank you from YWCA

On behalf of our team at the YWCA, thank you to our entire Bow Valley community for supporting the 2015 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign.

On behalf of our team at the YWCA, thank you to our entire Bow Valley community for supporting the 2015 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign.

It is a powerful statement when men, women and children join together to take a stand to end violence against women in the Bow Valley.

More than 140 walkers, 70 volunteers and hundreds of donors, spectators and advocates participated to raise awareness about intimate partner violence and to support local programing and services. By participating in Walk a Mile, we all took a stand together, as one community, against violence in the Bow Valley.

A big thank you goes out to individual and team walkers, our sole sisters, volunteers, donors and sponsors for committing your time, effort and money towards this cause. Through your hard work and generous support we raised more than $75,000 for the YWCA’s prevention work, including programming in Bow Valley schools and the community. We simply couldn’t have done it without you.

A special thanks to the Town of Canmore for welcoming us to host the event this year and for the commitment from both the Town of Banff and Canmore teams, under the leadership of Mayors Sorensen and Borrowman.

Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you next year in Banff.

Connie MacDonald, Stephen Crotty and Paula Krupa, YWCA Banff
