Thank-you, kind angel

Editor: On Thursday (May 12) I was on my way to an appointment in downtown Canmore.

I parked in the parking lot behind Bank of Montreal and, when walking away from my vehicle, I tripped and landed on my face on the paving. There was quite a bit of blood pouring onto the paving and I didn’t dare move. A very kind angel stopped, got out of his car and tried to help me. By this time there were a few people suggesting I call 911. I knew I was OK (no heart attack or dizziness) so I said “no. I will get to the hospital.”

The beautiful soul offered to take me and when I said no it’s OK I can drive, he insisted on following me there. He parked, helped me out of my vehicle and walked me into the hospital. I asked him his name, which I cannot remember. I also asked if he was local and he said yes.

The purpose of me writing this letter is to say a huge thank-you to my gentleman angel helper. All I can tell you is he’s a dad because he gave me a diaper to help soak up the blood.

I wanted to let the beautiful community of Canmore know that chivalry is not dead and it totally lives right here in our beloved mountains.

I also want to say a huge thank-you to the others who cared enough to stop and try to help and to Terry of Elli’s Hair West who went to my appointment and canceled it for me.

P.S. Nothing broken, just black eyes and superficial wounds.

I am so proud and blessed to be living in such a kind caring community for the last 25 years. Blessings to you all.

Hilary Cloutier,

Canmore
