I wish to express my gratitude to Lafarge for hosting the Exshaw Cemetery Tours on Saturday (Sept. 27).
Lafarge generously allowed us to visit the cemetery, which resides on the edge of the plant’s quarry. As well, I was appreciative of the stairs and scaffolding that Lafarge employees had erected to ensure our easy access over the uneven ground.
I also want to recognize Deb Grady, MD of Bighorn community services coordinator, for her efforts in organizing this memorable event. Judging by the considerable turnout, (two busloads of residents), I think many others were as pleased as I was to visit this significant place in our rich pioneer history.
