Thank you Maggie and Kouba

The persistent grade at the entrance was especially challenging and many folks had to get a grip on the fence and traverse to the gate – both entering and leaving the park.

The town responded to calls from one or more of the folks who regularly use that park and spread a few shovels of sand at the gate, but the attempt was insufficient and frustrating for most who regularly use the heliport off-leash area.

And so – thank you Maggie (a Burnco guard dog) and Kouba (her Labrador friend) for donating some of your kibble allowance to supply traction sand and spread it liberally at the entry area and along the paths leading from the gate.

It means that they and many others in the dog community can play with the secure belief that their human employees can accompany them while they play and sniff and do all the things that dogs like to do.

Huge thanks to the pups and the people who supplied and spread the sand, making walking conditions a lot safer for all of us who use the heliport off-leash.

I am confident this speaks for many.

Colleen Campbell,
