Editor:
I know a whole lot of people and organizations jumped in to help after Wednesday night’s/Thursday’s flood but I think the Town staff deserve a big round of applause in helping us through this crisis.
I was trapped in Calgary (safe and sound above the flooding), but Don was here and I can tell you, the daily updates I got from the assistance line as well as the website news were a great comfort to me and helped me to give encouragement and “survival” tips to Don. The people on the assistance line were unfailingly polite, friendly and empathetic and I thank them for it. Communication is so important when you’re cut off from what (and who) you hold most dear; the Town helped bridge that gap. Thanks again and also the friends and neighbours who kept in touch throughout those four, seemingly endless, days.
