Thanks for celebration

As a parent of one of the Sochi 2014 Olympic athletes who attended the Bow Valley Olympic and Paralympic Celebration on Saturday (May 24), I want to thank the many people responsible for this special event honouring our athletes.
It was a wonderful community experience which included jazz music from the Valley Winds Jazz Band, vocals of Emily Pomeroy and the Canmore Nordic Centre youth. The two awesome emcees, Beckie Scott and Tony Smith, honoured the histories and achievements of each athlete.
A very special thank you to Linda and Blair Dunbar who spearheaded the organization of this wonderful event.
Thank you also to the towns of Canmore and Banff, (especially Chris Bartolomie), Smith and Scott (emcees extraordinaire), Richard Donaldson, (fundraiser) and Sarah Renner and Thomas Grandi (Paintbox Lodge) for hosting the athlete’s reception.
The team effort of all the volunteers and organization was flawless. The community BBQ was a much appreciated generous touch.
It is an honour and privilege to live in the Bow Valley.
