Once more, the folks of the Bow Valley have shown they care.

Last August, we spearheaded an initiative to collect and fly out flood debris from the lower end of Cougar Creek. On May 22 of this year, we completed the task.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people who contributed to making it happen. A massive thank you goes to Jo-Anne Kobelt and Dave Golovich of Alpine Helicopters who once again volunteered their craft, crew and expertise with long-line nets; Mark Ridgeley of Ridgeley Contractors who provided a trailer and truck with driver Ron Hill; Peter Duck of Bow Valley Waste Management and Andy Esarte and Sally Caudill of the Town of Canmore who assisted in canvassing for volunteers and paid the landfill fees.

Much gratitude also goes to the awesome folk who lent their muscles and time to fill the nets and sort the loads: Pete Harvey, Peter Lemieux, Will Honeyman, Fraser Ross, Kelly Stevens, Steph Chamberland, Eric Stalder, Garth Lyons, Alaina Fraser, Keri Davis, Jay Gould and Tony Reardon.

This beautiful area has been returned to its natural condition (well, almost) and we couldn’t have done it without you all.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Claire Honeyman and Kristi Beetch,

Canmore
