The issue with intercept lots

Am I the only one who thinks we are dancing around the obvious fact that the only place left to build an intercept parking lot is in Canmore?

I am interested in hearing why this hasn’t been proposed – or why it was shot down.

Also, the NDP is supposed to favour mass transit as an environmental initiative – does anyone know if this applies to railway? If so, is funding available?

And could the railway be strictly regional – say Lake Louise, Banff and Canmore only?

In this scenario, could the intercept parking lot be built as part of a railway station and could it include retail and restaurant space? Barring that – a bus terminal?

And would the inclusion of retail and restaurant space increase the likelihood of funding from private interests/businesses?

Any information that the RMO could report on would be appreciated.
