Editor: Thank you to RMO and Sgt. Ryan Currie for the most informative and timely article about bicycle safety and the appropriate laws regarding the proper use of these vehicles.
We are very fortunate to have so many bicycle enthusiasts here in the Bow Valley as they provide a positive example for environmental and personal health. However, as we all are aware, there is no doubt that further, ongoing education and enforcement of the laws is required and may just save some one’s life one day.
I would suggest that our town council consider whether it is time for the formal licensing of bicycles at which time people could be given instruction about safe bicycle operation.
The funds collected through this registration could then be used for further education and perhaps the construction of a bus shelter in front of our seniors residence.
