Too much wildlife destruction

The editorial ‘Bear carnage can’t continue’ speaks for all of us who value these animals who are desperately attempting to live in peace.

It is worth remembering that Oct. 4 is World Animal Day – this date is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals and the Environment. The current pope took St. Francis’ name believing that we are all stewards of the environment.

In the animal kingdom, which creatures are not exploited or ignored by humans?

Sadly, our relationship with animals has deteriorated to such an extent that respect for the contribution animals, wild and domesticated, offer to our lives, is almost non-existent.
