Editor: A big shout out to the 700 fans that came out to the final Hip concert at the curling rink in Canmore.
The energy was amazing. We danced. We sang. We cried. We paid tribute to one amazing band and man.
If I’m not mistaken, this is the biggest indoor concert ever held in Canmore. Correct me if I’m wrong.
A lot of people helped to pull this magical event off in record time: Christian Janes did A/V and it was incredible; Dawn Lewis organized all of the volunteers (a.k.a. herding cats); Dan Sparks and Natalie Kelly helped out with sizeable financial contributions as did many others; Cooperators made sure we were properly insured; the Canmore Golf and Curling Club was very generous and took care of keeping us fed and hydrated; Dave Brown assembled the Tragic Hippies .... Canmore’s newest cover band and Jeff Mah and Jason Desoto created incredible T-shirts which sold out before the show was over and needed a second run.
