Waste needs same attention as events

Dear Mayor Sorensen;

There has been significant overnight parking that has occurred this summer and continues today. No one is policing this (in spite of requests from the residents of Bow Avenue) and these overnight campers are using the area between the road and the path as a toilet.

I am enclosing a photograph of a young man urinating along Bow Avenue next to his car about 9 a.m. today. This man brazenly urinated in the daytime. You can imagine what is done out there under the cover of darkness. I continue to pick up after my dog, but I know that a lot of the poo out there is human.

The Town of Banff should be stopping overnight parking. There are often more than 10 cars and vans overnight and they are not only allowed to park there, but I have yet to see one of them receive a ticket.

I also frequently saw people along the river setting up barbecues beside their cars and then dumping the contents of their frying pans and buckets into the bush. This clearly attracts animals and should also be stopped.

Betsy Hall-Findlay,

Banff
