Where is the support?

After watching a documentary on what these men went through and how hard they trained, it was with pride and emotion that I watched these men receive their most prestigious awards.

What truly bothered me today was the lack of any local political figure being there.

How shameful, Mayor Borrowman and council. I also did not see any newspaper personnel there taking pictures or doing a story on this momentous occasion.

Shame on all of you. And you would think that maybe, just maybe, we would have seen a provincial government representative there or a letter of congratulations from the federal government would have been in order.

The other thing I noticed was the lack of any Legion members in uniform from Canmore Branch there to cheer on Lloyd and the other two men. Have we forgotten that peace is not a birthright and that these three men fought for our freedom and way of life?

Congratulations Lloyd Lewis and thank you for all that you did for your country and fellow citizens.

Pam Forman,

Calgary
