“I love community engagement. … I talk to business owners and constituents and anyone who lives here every day. Events like this where I know my opinion isn’t the popular one in the room is great to come to. I want to hear and know what they’re thinking and do my best to implement a shared vision.

After 25 years of exploring and explaining the global water and water-related climate crisis, I find myself at the limits of what I know and think, or even can think and the lies and misinformation I can tolerate regarding the global climate threat.

“We’re comfortable with these requests allowing us to operate more efficiently and hopefully get a little ahead being reactive. We’ve had some challenges with staff and losing staff because of the pressures we’ve put on them to perform and operate for 20 hours every day. That’s where some of the asks come from.”

EDITORIAL: Public transit in the Bow Valley has grown from once being a nice-to-have to being a need-to-have.

“We do have bear reports of mainly black bears in and around the Canmore townsite here and those have been seen eating mainly buffaloberries and other natural food sources. There have also been a few reports of black bears getting into fruit-bearing trees.”

“I like the large item pickup program, but the fact we are sending tonnes of usable material to the landfill is a missed opportunity. … It doesn’t bind us to anything or say we’re going to do anything new, but I think one of our roles as council is to think bigger and perhaps challenge what can we do better,”
