Firefighters battle a flareup on the roof of the Mount Royal Hotel in Banff on Thursday (Dec. 29). Fire crews from across the Bow Valley joined the Banff Fire Department in mutal aid to combat a blaze that destroyed the third floor of the hotel and left the remainder, along with Banff Avenue businesses beneath, uninhabitable.
