Banff climber dies after fall from Tunnel Mountain

A 26-year-old Banff climber is dead after a fall from Tunnel Mountain on Friday. Parks Canada public safety specialists and RCMP responded at 12:25 p.m.

A 26-year-old Banff climber is dead after a fall from Tunnel Mountain on Friday.

Parks Canada public safety specialists and RCMP responded at 12:25 p.m. after the man stumbled and fell 25 to 40 metres along the rock face while climbing along Le Soulier (The Shoe) rock face.

According to an RCMP press release, the man suffered fatal injuries in the fall. His body was recovered by RCMP and the second climber rescued by Parks.
