Banff Heritage Tourism has launched a new outdoor photo installation in Banff Avenue Square.

Banff Heritage Tourism has launched a new outdoor photo installation in Banff Avenue Square.

The group, in partnership with Banff Lake Louise Tourism and Parks Canada, features memorable moments and incredible photographs taken in Banff National Park.

The outdoor installation Picture This! will feature four large format photos, one on each side of the existing Rundle stone hut in Banff Avenue Square. Each photo will be accompanied by a short description provided by the photographer.

For the initial round of submissions, Banff Heritage Tourism is appealing to residents in the Bow Valley. The deadline for the first round of submissions is July 25. From then on, this ongoing project will collect submissions through the year and feature new images every three months.

Participants may submit their image and text through the following methods:

Email [email protected], web http://banfflakelouise.com/photography, Facebook: Banff Heritage Tourism.

Minimum resolution of photos must be 3.5MB to allow for large format printing, and include a maximum 75-word description of the story behind the photograph.

A judging committee, composed of local photographers, will select four winners based on the quality and significance of the image and caption.

Picture This! will also capture Banff National Park’s rich heritage of photography, featuring four iconic black and white images taken by a famed local photographer such as Byron Harmon, Bruno Engler and George Noble.
