Banff RCMP investigate sexual assaults

Banff RCMP is investigating two separate incidents of sexual assault against lone females that took place, Friday (June 24). To date, police have no information to indicate these assaults are linked or that they were committed by the same male.

Banff RCMP is investigating two separate incidents of sexual assault against lone females that took place, Friday (June 24).

To date, police have no information to indicate these assaults are linked or that they were committed by the same male.

Just before midnight, a woman walking alone near Lynx Street in Banff was accosted by an unknown male. The man is described as being black and 5 foot 6 inches tall.

At about 1 a.m., a woman walking alone in the south area of Banff Avenue was accosted by an unknown male who fled after sexually assaulting her. The man is described as Caucasian, tall, with blonde hair in his mid-twenties.

RCMP want residents to be aware of these incidents and report anything that may assist in identifying the persons responsible for these crimes.
