Banff RCMP looking for suspect

Banff RCMP are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in an assault that occurred early Wednesday morning (March 2). According to a press release, the RCMP received a complaint at 1:41 a.m.

Banff RCMP are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in an assault that occurred early Wednesday morning (March 2).

According to a press release, the RCMP received a complaint at 1:41 a.m. of an assault in the west alley of the 200 block of Banff Avenue. It is alleged that an altercation occurred between the victim and the unknown suspect, who then fled northbound up the alley towards Wolf Street.

The victim had to be taken to Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.

Surveillance footage was obtained and an image of the suspect identified by an independent witness. The suspect is described as Caucasian, five foot eight feet tall, brown hair, short facial hair and spoke with a French accent.
