After several instances of counterfeit currency being used in Canmore, RCMP have issued a warning to Bow Valley businesses to be on the look out for funny money.

A RCMP news release was issued Thursday (Feb. 23), noting that several complaints of counterfeit U.S. currency were received by the detachment.

According to the statement, police would like to alert local businesses and the public of the counterfeit currency circulating in the community.
 

Witnesses to criminal activity like the use of counterfeit money are asked to report it to police by calling 911 if the suspects are still present or 403-678-5516 to report it to police.
