Escaped bank robber believed to have family in Canmore, Lake Louise

RCMP are advising the public to be on the lookout for an escaped prisoner from the Grande Cache Correctional Institute. Dennis Paul Haines escaped sometime between 11 p.m. Monday (Sept. 26) and 6 a.m. today (Sept. 27).

RCMP are advising the public to be on the lookout for an escaped prisoner from the Grande Cache Correctional Institute.

Dennis Paul Haines escaped sometime between 11 p.m. Monday (Sept. 26) and 6 a.m. today (Sept. 27).

The 38-year-old was with two other inmates from the Grande Cache Correctional Institute staying at the Wabasso Campground south of Jasper with two correctional officers.

It is unknown what direction of travel he took but RCMP advise he is believed to have family in the Lake Louise, Canmore and Calgary areas.

He is described as being 5'10 " tall, weighing 183 lbs with blue eyes, brown hair that is starting to grey and a fair complexion.

He is clean cut, wears glasses with his hair parted in the middle and was last seen wearing correctional institute blue jeans, jean jacket, white T-shirt, a white long sleeved shirt, work boots and dark rimmed glasses.

He had a change of clothing consisting of black sweat pants and other clothing, which is unknown at the time.

Haines was three years into an eight year sentence after pleading guilty to five heists in Calgary and a Sixth in Medicine Hat.

Haines has numerous tattoos including: a knife on the back of his neck, skulls with spider web on his left upper arm, soldier in a helmet on the left forearm, dragon on the left inner forearm, dragon with Michael Levi Silver written on a scroll on his right chest, demonic masks on his left chest, a skull with hair, circular emblem, and skeleton holding swords on his upper back and the word nomad on his abdomen.
