Fatal crash near Exshaw

One man is dead, and two people were taken to the hospital after a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision Sunday (July 24) afternoon east of Exshaw.

Canmore RCMP said a 57-year-old male motorcyclist from Calgary was pronounced dead at the scene on Highway 1A near the Yamnuska Day Use area.

The two vehicle passengers, a 74-year-old male and 66-year-old female from Calgary, were uninjured but were transported to hospital by EMS as precaution.

Police say the motorcyclist was travelling westbound when he crossed the centre line and crashed into the passenger vehicle at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

Highway 1A was closed east of Highway 1X to Morley Road for approximately five hours. It has since been re-opened.
