An avalanche trigged by three scramblers resulted in a “very rough ride down” a Kananaskis Country mountain, Tuesday (Dec. 20).

An avalanche trigged by three scramblers resulted in a “very rough ride down” a Kananaskis Country mountain, Tuesday (Dec. 20).

Kananaskis Country Public Safety reported three subjects were evacuated by helicopter and transferred to EMS following the afternoon incident on Wind Mountain.

Two of the scramblers were taken to hospital for evaluation.

The trio was hit by snow and debris and taken for a “rough ride down rocky and snowy terrain.”

Experts say when out in the backcountry, keep observing and updating on your surroundings.
