A man in his mid-30s is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a skiing accident Sunday morning (Jan. 4) in Banff National Park.
The man reportedly struck a tree on the slopes at Sunshine Village and was rushed to Banff’s Mineral Springs Hospital by ground ambulance, said Cam Heke, STARS ambulance spokesperson. He added the man was transported to a Calgary hospital by helicopter just after 12:05 p.m.
“He was in critical condition during the flight to Calgary,” Heke said. “His injuries are deemed life-threatening.”
