Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash north of Lake Louise

A motorcyclist is in hospital after colliding with a vehicle Wednesday (July 22) on Highway 93 in Banff National Park. A 58-year-old male motorcyclist from Stony Plain was airlifted to Calgary Foothills Medical Centre just after 1:30 p.m.

A motorcyclist is in hospital after colliding with a vehicle Wednesday (July 22) on Highway 93 in Banff National Park.

A 58-year-old male motorcyclist from Stony Plain was airlifted to Calgary Foothills Medical Centre just after 1:30 p.m. by STARS air ambulance, said STARS spokesperson Cam Heke.

The accident occurred near Waterfowl Lakes, approximately 60 kilometres north of Lake Louise.

The man was in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries during transportation, said Heke.

Lake Louise RCMP say the two occupants in the other vehicle were not injured in the collision.
