A 53-year-old Morley motorist is in stable condition after a medical issue caused a single vehicle rollover Wednesday (Feb. 24) off Bear Hill Road, near Highway 1.

The man was airlifted to Calgary Foothills hospital in life-threatening condition, said Fatima Khawaja, STARS air ambulance spokesperson.

Cochrane RCMP confirmed the injured man’ s status was updated to stable on Thursday (Feb. 25).

“It appears that a medical issue caused the accident,” said Sgt. Jeff Campbell.

“The vehicle went off road gradually, and didn’ t do a complete roll.”

A male passenger from Morley, 35, was uninjured in the incident.

Bear Hill Road is a few kilometres east of Morley.

Speed and alcohol were not a factor, said RCMP.
