A paraglider was heli-slung to safety following a botched jump off on an iconic mountain peak near Canmore, Tuesday (May 31).
The subject, identified as Joe Rohrer from Banff, suffered “numerous traumatic injuries” after crashing into Ha Ling Peak, according to Kananaskis Country Public Safety.
“Rescuers worked in steep terrain to anchor the subject and he was then packaged and evacuated via heli-sling,” wrote KCPS on Facebook.
Specifics to his injuries have not been released.
Alpine Helicopter assisted with the rescue.
