Parks searching for missing ice climber

Rescuers in Banff National Park are currently searching for a missing ice climber after an incident occurred on Thursday night (Feb. 5).

Rescuers in Banff National Park are currently searching for a missing ice climber after an incident occurred on Thursday night (Feb. 5).
They are searching an area located along the Icefields Parkway North on a an ice climbing route known as Polar Circus. However, due to current avalanche conditions they are unable to begin a search on the ground.
The incident was reported Thursday night, but due to the avalanche hazard, deteriorating weather conditions and nightfall, visitor safety specialists were unable to begin searching until Friday morning (Feb. 6).
