27 years

I care about Canmore and have invested 25 years of community service. Having the opportunity to contribute and engage in this special community has been very rewarding. Participating for many years, appearing as a delegation to councils regularly over the years, I gained valuable experience. Understanding the commitment and time required to be a Town Councillor, I worked towards that goal. Having the support of my family and business, I decided to run for Council and was elected to office in 2013. Serving a full term on Council, my experience and dedication will enable me to work effectively and diligently to serve our community. I'm running for public office to provide strong, dedicated and engaged leadership

It's been one of the hardest challenges to make difficult decisions in the face of opposition. The characteristics I bring are to make difficult decisions for the betterment of our community. Having the ability to be fair while assessing the varied and significant community input is important.

Livability and Affordable housing. I'm happy and proud to have served on a Council that moved the bar and made some significant strides in these important areas. Continued effort is needed to ensure availability of affordable housing stock and the living wage is addressed. Wildlife corridors and habitat patches: coexistence with wildlife and better practices are needed.

After studying the issues and discussing them since the late 1980's, it's time to respect our valuable asset, (wildlife) and manage it. Access, enforcement, and purpose-built trails are all important. Our wildlife management experts, developers, landowners, council, citizens, and planners all need to contribute to community action. A sustainable funding model for destination marketing and economic development is needed, as well as event management to ensure they are supported and remain economic drivers to support our citizens and businesses. Continuing flood mitigation efforts and infrastructure improvements. Wildfire and emergency preparedness are also a high priority.

Livability, suites in existing neighbourhoods, and Airbnb discussions.

I believe in working towards balancing the needs and wants of our community while maintaining our community members.

The goals of satisfying housing needs of our residents, continuing multi-modal transportation options, infrastructure and continuing to enhance public transit to meet our social needs, will be important to realize success.
