Parks Canada visitor safety specialists are no longer searching an area of the Yoho River in Yoho National Park Saturday (July 23) for an 11-year-old boy who fell into the water Friday night (July 22).
Parks Canada responded to begin the search at 7:40 p.m. Friday, when the young boy fell into the river near the Takkakaw Falls day use area. On Tuesday morning (July July 26), Parks "completed recovery" of the boy from the river according to a press release.
According to an earlier release, Parks lead an extensive aerial and ground search of the Yoho River along with Golden-Field RCMP, Field Fire, BC Ambulance, Golden Search and Rescue with the support of two helicopters.
The missing child was identified as being from Calgary and 11 years old.
