A 25 year old woman is dead after a single vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway one kilometre west of Lake Louise, Saturday (May 24). According to RCMP, a westbound SUV left the highway at about 4 a.m.

A 25 year old woman is dead after a single vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway one kilometre west of Lake Louise, Saturday (May 24).

According to RCMP, a westbound SUV left the highway at about 4 a.m. The woman and a 32 year old male driver were ejected from the vehicle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the male was taken to Banff Mineral Springs Hospital by ambulance then airlifted to Foothills Hospital in Calgary by STARS.

RCMP say speed and alcohol are being at as possible factors in the crash. RCMP collision analysts are investigating.
