BOW VALLEY – As school sports are continually being adversely affected by the pandemic, a fun athletic competition was issued to students across Alberta.

The Alberta Schools' Athletic Association (ASAA) is hosting a virtual track and field challenge for junior and senior high school students, as well as coaches and mascots until June 5.

Participants are encouraged to submit their best performances in running, jumping and throwing events to the athletic.net website and app.

One of the best parts of a virtual challenge is it can be completed anywhere – from the school's field to a backyard.

There are categories for for para-athletes and Special Olympics Unified Sports teams.

The competition has drawn interest from local schools, and the ASAA will award prizes to schools with the highest percentage of students participating.
