CANMORE – The Canmore Canada Cup XCO & XXC (UCI Jr. Series) is being rerouted until fall.

Cycling Canada revised a busy 2021 schedule across all disciplines, which included postponing the mountain biking competition at the Canmore Nordic Centre until Oct. 1-3, replacing the previous June 18-20 date.

“The Canada Cup calendar will see the addition of a new Canada Cup date in St. Félicien along with an October date for Canmore, with all events receiving an upgrade in Junior sanctioning to ‘UCI Junior Series’,” a Cycling Canada statement said.

Due to COVID-19, Cycling Canada said that it, along with provincial associations and organizing committees, has been committed to making decisions in the interest of ensuring a safe sporting environment.

There will be no further postponements unless otherwise noted, added Cycling Canada.

Monday's (May 10) updated list of national events included the status of two nearby downhill competitions in B.C.

The Panorama Canada Cup takes place between July 19-21; and the 2021 Canadian Downhill MTB Championships in Golden is from July 24-25.
