Canmore’s Aidan Millar, Matthew Strum selected to world cup and IBU teams

The results are in for Biathlon Canada's world cup and IBU cup teams

CANMORE – Biathlon Canada announced its teams for the world cup and IBU cup for the upcoming first tour of the season.

Canmore’s Aidan Millar and Jules Burnotte of Sherbrooke, QC, were selected for the third and fourth spots on the top circuit world cup team alongside brothers Scott Gow and Christian Gow.

On the women’s side, Whitehorse’s Nadia Moser and Calgary’s Megan Bankes were selected. They will race beside senior national team members Sarah Beaudry of Prince George, B.C. and Emma Lunder of Vernon, B.C.

The world cup season starts Nov. 30 in Sweden.

Competing on the IBU Cup, the world cup feeder circuit, six Canadians were selected to compete.

Canmore’s Matthew Strum, Calgary’s Adam Runnalls, Carsen Campbell of Bedeque, P.E.I., and Trevor Kiers of Sprucedale, Ont., were selected to the men’s side.

Emily Dickson of Burns Lake, B.C. and Calgary’s Darya Sepandj were selected for the women.

The IBU Cup squad is competing in Austria and Italy in December.
