Although Jan Hudec’s exclusion from the national ski team has created the biggest stir, the Bow Valley will still have a presence on the big club.
Ski cross racers Kris Mahler and Tristan Tafel will be added to the C team, while Trevor Philp and Erik Read will race for Canada on the alpine technical team. Their younger siblings, Huston Philp and Jeffrey Read, were also named to Alpine Canada’s development team.
Mahler and Tafel will be officially named to the development team later this month.
“Every team member has demonstrated tremendous dedication, perseverance and talent. After last season’s impressive accomplishments, including a Nations Cup victory, 43 world cup podiums and three Crystal Globes, across our ski cross, para-alpine and alpine Teams, I’m confident the best is yet to come,” said Alpine Canada president Mark Rubinstein.
