While many athletes believe a tie is akin to kissing your sibling, the Banff Rugby Football women’s side believes it is a harbinger of wins to come.

The Banff Bears high school rugby squad has achieved something that’s never been done before, in any sport, at their school: the squad captured a provincial championship.

While the defence wasn’t airtight and the offence lacked finish, the Banff Rugby Football Club men’s side had enough in the tank to defeat the last-place Calgary Hornets 29-28 at the Rec Grounds on June 11.
