Mountain fans and powder seeking snow lovers won’t want to miss Snow Days Mountain Adventure Night taking place at Wild Bill’s in Banff on Saturday (Jan. 14).

Mountain fans and powder seeking snow lovers won’t want to miss Snow Days Mountain Adventure Night taking place at Wild Bill’s in Banff on Saturday (Jan. 14).

Featuring a presentation by Rockies adventurer, writer, historian and all-around mountain guru, Chic Scott, the evening will also include a selection of action packed snow-jammed films from the 2011 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.

Serving a greater purpose, the event will also include a silent auction, with all proceeds going to support the Canadian Avalanche Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Canadian Avalanche Centre.

Funds raised through the CAF are essential for developing and maintaining Canadian Avalanche Centre public safety programs and services, in addition to other public avalanche safety initiatives in mountain regions across Canada, including the Rockies and B.C.’s Selkirks – both popular backcountry skiing destinations for Bow Valley ski tourers and ski mountaineers.

Tickets for the event are $10 and include guaranteed seating for the show, plus one Wild Bill’s lager beer. The Snow Days event, which runs from 6-9 p.m., will be followed with live music by the Combine Pilots. Tickets are available at Wild Bill’s and at Ultimate Ski and Ride or by calling 1-800-563-8764.
