Three-time Gospel Music Awards (GMA) award-winning tenor group Tenore are currently on tour with the new holiday album Christmas With You.

The group began its national tour in Camrose on Nov. 15, and a concert with the Bow Valley Chorus will be performed on Saturday (Nov. 30) in Banff at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church from 7-9 p.m.

With Alberta concerts in Camrose, Edmonton, Red Deer, Medicine Hat and Banff, Tenore is ready to spread festive joy across the province.

Tenore is Mark Williams, Jason Catron, David Wise and swing tenor Kevin Pauls.

“We’re one night in and so far it’s been pretty awesome. We played to a packed house last night in Camrose and I think because we just had such a great concert we brought a dumping of snow; we’re bringing Christmas,” said Pauls.

The Christmas holiday album features both festive classics and original material which includes a guest appearance from Grammy Award-winning vocalist Heather Headley.

The album includes holiday classics “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “O Holy Night,” and “O Come all ye Faithful,” and in addition to Headley features Grammy and Juno Award winners Sharon Riley and Faith Chorale.

“People should expect Christmas to show up in a big way,” said Pauls. “We tried to make this record full of classic songs to help foster the festive spirit to bring back memories of Christmas past to bring joy and hope.”

“To have three tenor voices with beautiful orchestrations wrapped up in these treasured songs really adds up to making a great night to bring the entire family to. We’re going to have the Bow Valley Chorus performing with us in Banff, and we’re really excited to perform with them,” said Williams.

Recorded in Nashville, Chicago and Toronto, Christmas With You brought together a variety of producers, musicians and a 50-piece orchestra. “The media response has just been fantastic,” said Tenore founder and manager Jill Siemens. “As soon as the tour press release was released, within five minutes Canada AM called and we’ll be performing on there on Dec. 4 ... so the media response has been amazing.”

The group says the true spirit and magic of the holiday season is captured with Tenore’s diverse vocal harmonies on the album, and they are thrilled the public response has been tremendous for an album they loved to create.

Tickets are $25 and available at Café Books, Mooseprint Books in Banff and at the door for $30.
