I am sure by now you are aware that Mountain Munchkin Daycare has been issued an eviction notice from their current building for April 30, 2014. While they are requesting an extension to this date, this is very alarming for many Canmore families.
My son has attended Mountain Munchkin Daycare for over three years and their commitment to providing outstanding care and development programs for the children amazes me. They are constantly investing in new projects to better the daycare and the children’s experience.
The closure of Mountain Munchkin Daycare would be a huge loss for our community; not only will it have an immediate affect on staff and current families of the daycare, but it will be a future loss of 94 childcare places, something that our community cannot afford when there is already a childcare shortage.
I ask that the current families of Mountain Munchkin Daycare and future families of daycares/dayhomes come together to voice their support of Mountain Munchkin Daycare to ensure they are not forced to close and Canmore does not end up with a greater childcare shortage than we already have.
