“All of these folks are asymptomatic travellers that have recently returned to Canada, I believe, to try to stay ahead of the Feb. 22 restrictions that came into effect," said Silvio Adamo, Banff's director of emergency management.

“We have seen some pretty aggressive colour schemes on residential dwellings," said Randall McKay, Banff's manager of strategic priorities and special projects.

“We have seen steady increases in terms of visitation to the park. We have certainly heard from Canadians that they would like to look at how we best manage this iconic place into the future.”

The show must go on.

“This is not overly unusual, but it’s a little on the larger side for this area. It is part of the ongoing low-grade tectonic activity in the Rocky Mountains, but it’s not necessarily a prelude to anything super exciting.”

White Mountain Adventures has requested Canmore town council make changes to allow the local company to pilot a guided e-bike tour on local trails.

"But by no means is this over, and we’re likely going to experience ebb and flow with this virus in our community because of the circumstances we have here," said Silvio Adamo, director of emergency management for the Town of Banff.

Parks Canada officials say the Prince Albert, Sask. individual charged in this incident did not appear in court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

”[It’s] to save time and really cut red tape of having to go back to council for an appointment that’s already contemplated in the land-use bylaw."

“Value trends have seen the land values staying the same, with buildings down because of a slight amount of depreciation," said assessor Frank Watson of Banff's overall residential assessments dropping about one per cent.
