“Please do everything you can to reduce, and spend nothing that you don’t have to,” said former Banff town councillor and local business owner Ossis Treutler Jr.

“I feel it is irresponsible to borrow any sum of money for capital projects right now and I know that I am not the only concerned local. Please consider the financial burden that a project of this scale will have on our local businesses and residents.”

“People are in a very generous space and I really celebrate that but that also makes them increasingly vulnerable for frauds and scams that are praying on their better nature."

“Albertans should feel proud of the collective work that we’ve done to prevent spread,” said Dr. Deena Hinshaw. “We need to be a bit cautious especially because we do have several outbreaks that are happening right now where we see some significant case numbers. It’s possible in areas where we are having those outbreaks, we could see increased demand for hospitalization.”

“Our primary focus has been on repurposing staff to the response effort to COVID, or putting them into positions where there are still essential services to be offered."

“Some have estimated that up to 50 per cent of tourism businesses might not make it if there is no summer season to support their efforts.”
