Based on the success of Roam regional and original Banff municipal transit, we at the Outlook believe Canmore’s future adoption of a transit service should be, as they say, “a no brainer.

Funny, isn’t it, that normally, if a municipal government was seen to be tossing away $50,000 with nothing to show for it, many citizens would be up in arms, in alarm.

While summer in our Rocky Mountain enclave is often too short-lived, or sometimes lacking in what many of us would describe as “summer weather,” something we do have in abundance is sunny days.

Being that housing issues go round and round in the Bow Valley, without much progress being made on creating more and/or more affordable housing, we’re happy to see that a new draft housing policy in Banff looks to address the issue.

Just when people in the Bow Valley are tired of hearing about the cost of everything going up, about how difficult it is to find employees and the ever-onerous task of finding housing – comes good news from Alberta Winter Games organizers.

Is it just staff here at the Outlook who feel we’ve somehow been caught up in some kind of an infinite loop here in valley? It seems like, over and over, similar to Bill Murray’s situation in Groundhog Day, things just keep going round and round.

Two valley hockey operations were before their respective municipal councils last week looking for some financial support and assistance.

You really have to wonder about the thought process, or whether there is one, in the minds of people who ignore bear warnings and head on into a closed area.
