Parks Canada visitor safety staff are warning skaters and those planning to recreate on frozen – or seemingly frozen – waterbodies in Banff National Park to be ice-wise ahead of the long weekend.

“The message has got across that transit is the way to move around and we’re really happy about that. … We’re excited by the growth and we’re just looking at continually looking ways to improve and make it a better experience,”

A tree posing a danger to a transmission line in Banff National Park is forcing a planned power outage for Wednesday morning (Nov. 8). The outage is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m.

“I feel it is a bit of a slippery slope,” said Coun. Barb Pelham.

“The neighbours chose to shelter in place, and because the officers could position themselves between the suspect and any other people, it was felt unnecessary to have to do an evacuation."

“I am a creature of habit. I’ve been doing Mondays for 10 years. I don’t know if I can change, but I am open to hearing what others have to say at that point in time.”

“I’m grinding to be a part of the team to hopefully help Canada get a medal, and then, I’m also grinding to be a part of that 12-man roster, in general.”

“I just have a lot of empathy now understanding a bit more of how much it's really just people that want to create content, they want to be entertainers, and how much this machine, social media, encourages behavior that is self destructive or destructive to those around them,” said Tyler Funk.
