At least seven restaurants and bars in Canmore took the precautionary measure to close, or stop in-person dining, to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the community. Only a few reported a confirmed case, while others cited contact tracing as part of the reason for their decision.

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says rising cases of more contagious COVID-19 variants should be a "wake-up call" but his government won't impose harsh measures such as curfews or stay-at-home orders.

One area pharmacist says he has received phone calls from as far as Edmonton, asking if they can book an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine.

The minister said the rapid testing program can allow for students and staff to be tested during the day without disruption to their daily routines. It can take as little as 15 minutes to get the results of a rapid test.
