As we start to get an idea of the drastic job losses in various industries as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic response, there is something we would like to tell Premier Jason Kenney.

The issue between hereditary leaders and the Canadian government unveiled what is known to most people of colour. Racism is alive and well in 21st century Canada.

Editor: I was both deeply troubled and completely dismayed having read the recent article "Town of Canmore addresses questions surrounding COVID-19."

Editor: Empty streets, empty shelves, March Madness empty. Nighthawk’s diner deserted. It was never so quiet. If I turn off the radio, turn off Internet, the world reveals it’s decision to keep on living.

What is happening won't last, but if we come together as a community to support each other while things are at their worst, then we will be OK.

Editor: The feeble behavior of Canmore council relating to the flood of potential infection into Canmore this last weekend is truly frightening.

Editor: This is a very difficult time for the tourism industry, and it is so great to see action happening to flatten the curve. However, let's consider the following: As far a we know, you cannot get COVID-19 from a tree.

Editor: What an incredible time in our world, in our country, in our valley. Things could not be changing more quickly. Some of our closest family members and colleagues are hanging on by a thread.
