Editor: Like many Albertans, I have found awe and wonder, inspiration and solace in our provincial parks. But what I wish to write about here is not our spectacular land and wildlife, though I love them dearly.

Editor: The issues around the proposed rebuilding of the colonial church on the Nakoda lands show how the truth of Oscar Wilde’s observation: “Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future,” can apply to populations as well as individuals."

Editor: As an editor of the healthier news publication in the Bow Valley, I expect more balance. I’m not sure how to do this, because I’m a professional engineer, not a journalist.

Editor: As a community we are pulling together to “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of COVID-19 through social isolating and other measures.

Editor: In this divided time, can we please agree on just one thing: let’s not harass the wildlife that we co-exist with in this area. Friday morning (March 20), I witnessed a cyclist barrelling down the paved trail alongside Cougar Creek.

Editor: We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and given the recent advice of the premier and health authorities and the continuing evolution of this pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's golf tournament fundraiser and all event activities until further notice.

If we are going to make it through the COVID-19 pandemic, we need to find a way through our fear. Things are scary right now. There is a lot of information out there about risk, about a new virus, about what you should and should not be doing.

Editor: It was with great disappointment we decided for everyone's safety to postpone the Dance for Dog Guides fundraiser due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Editor: With the current global pandemic, I wanted to take the time to recognize health care workers who are working so hard in an effort to help us stay safe and healthy in the Bow Valley and around the world.

Editor: While a majority of Canmore doesn't want "Vanmore" to be allowed, those who are using the program have issues that it is "not enough.
