Editor: Re.: No more MP newsletters. Thank God, Stephen Slemon hit the nail right on the head.

I wrote a letter titled Banff traffic problems that was published in the April 23 Outlook. That letter listed five reasons why I feel the Banff Avenue/Caribou Street crosswalk should be eliminated.

Imagine 42 two- and three-storey housing units built on any one of Canmore’s few and far between parks.

How is it the Town of Banff can pester a homeowner on Muskrat Street to replace a perfectly good plastic fence with a wooden one yet the Town of Banff can spend a fortune planting non-indigenous trees along Cave Avenue? Joe Owchar, Banff

Dictionary definition of a park: An area of land, usually in a largely natural state, for the enjoyment of the public, having facilities for rest and recreation, often owned, set apart, and managed by a city, state, or nation.

Is anyone else tired of receiving yet another Blake Richards circular in their mailbox? We just received the latest missive from our federal M.P. for Wild Rose.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we followed through on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Report by our Town inviting our Morley neighbours to a barbecue on Canada Day? I hope our town council will take leadership on this. We all have to play our part.

Editor: Today is a sad day, one amongst many, of finding another beautiful animal dead, violently shoved across the highway. Most people never see these animals, the clean up crew arrives fairly quickly.

Editor: Thank you to everyone who took part in the Purina Walk for Dog Guides on Sunday (May 31).

Editor: I am really looking forward to the trial of the woonerf on Bear Street. Woonerf is a Dutch term for ‘No Parking Available.’ Seriously, this is a step in the right direction. Getting rid of traffic in town will be good for business.
