Editor: I would just like to write a quick note of appreciation to the Town of Canmore for the skating rinks, which are provided free of charge and are so beautifully maintained.

Editor: I noticed with great interest the article in your Feb. 10 edition by Tanya Foubert regarding the future of the land owned by Three Sisters which was to have been completed as the Three Sisters Golf Course.

Editor: The other day I skied the Pipestone loop in Lake Louise. After 90 minutes on this trail I had counted 67 people plus various dogs, of which some were on, but many off, leash.

Editor: This refers to the Outlook’s coverage of New Catholic Church on horizon for Canmore dated Feb. 11, 2016. We take exception to the wording that the current Catholic church (Sacred Heart) is “not that beautiful.

Editor: Three Sisters’ ownership is requesting input from the public on what to do with the unfinished golf course, according to the story in the RMO (Feb. 10) entitled Three Sisters Won’t Develop second golf course.

Editor: I recently attended a funeral service at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church on the Tsuut’ina Nation, near Calgary. My friend, Dana did not see her 50th birthday; she succumbed to alcoholism and was buried on her land.

Editor: In a recent form letter response to many community members our mayor, John Borrowman, has commented on the schism, or divide, currently in our community in relation to the re-zoning in Peaks of Grassi and the need for affordable housing.

Editor: Mayor Borrowman has departed on an extended trip and the rest of council will shortly be on their annual mid-winter break.

Editor: We’ll probably remember it as the year they paved the wrong side of Scott Lake Hill. There was not really any stretch on this side of the hill that was crying out for major work, but plenty of spots on the other side that are a bit of a joke.
